Toner cartridges are rated at 5% page coverage, about a short business letter. Real documents with bold headers, tables, or graphics cover far more, so the cartridge empties sooner and every page costs more than the box implies.
How it works
Yield scales inversely with coverage: at double the coverage you get roughly half the pages. We estimate real yield as rated × (5 ÷ your coverage %), then recompute cost per page at that real yield if you enter the cartridge price.

Common questions
How do I know my coverage?
Many devices report average coverage in their admin pages or usage reports. Typical office mono runs 6–10%; color and graphics-heavy work runs much higher.
